Pedestrian dies after collision with HGV on A31 Farnham Road

A 25 year old man has died from his injuries after being hit by a HGV on the A31 Farnham Road in the early hours of Friday morning.

The collision happened on the Guildford-bound carriageway between the Hogs Back and Down Lane junctions, near the bridge over the A3, at around 3.40am.

A 25 year old pedestrian was taken to hospital by air ambulance but has since died of his injuries, Surrey Police confirmed just after 5pm.

A spokesman said: “Our thoughts at this time are with his family who are being supported by specialist officers.”

Surrey Police is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the now-fatal collision, has dashcam footage or saw a male pedestrian in the area at the time or just before, to contact officers quoting PR/ 45220102127 via:

The A31 Farnham Road, where the A31 peels away from the Hogs Back towards Guildford, was closed until mid-morning on Friday while officers investigated the collision.
