POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the front door of a house in Alton was set on fire.
The fire, which the police are treating as arson, broke out around 5am on October 31 at a property on Kipling Road.
Officers are looking into the circumstances surrounding the fire and are keen for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time to come forward.
Investigating officer PC Thomas Stewart said: “We believe this fire was set deliberately and would like to find out how and who was responsible.
“We are keen to find out if anyone nearby has CCTV which covers this area, or the surrounding areas, and would also like to hear from anyone who drove through this area around the time that may have caught something on dashcam.
“If you have anything that could assist our enquiries, then please call us.”
Anyone with information should call the police on 101, quoting 44180408542, or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
