An 18-year-old man from Fleet has died following a crash in Yateley.

Police were called shortly after 9.30pm on Saturday, August 15, following reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a blue Ford Focus on Cricket Hill Lane.

Emergency services attended and an 18-year-old man from Fleet was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

Another 18-year-old man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, while two other people reported minor injuries.

An 18-year-old man from Fleet was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Detective Sergeant Edward Crofts, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “An investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances of this collision, in which a young man has sadly lost his life.

“As part of our enquiries, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or who saw the car shortly beforehand in the A30 / A327 roundabout area, to come forward.

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage, if you have not already spoken to us.

“Our thoughts remain with those affected by this incident, and specialist officers will be supporting the family of the 18-year-old man who passed away.”
