HAMPSHIRE police have been taking part in a national crackdown on speeding.
The aim of the National Police Chiefs’ Council two-week campaign, which began on August 12, is to remind people about the dangers of speeding and help to ensure everyone has “a summer to remember for the right reasons”.
In a statement, Hampshire Constabulary explained if you hit a pedestrian at 40mph they have a survival chance of only ten per cent, whereas if you hit a pedestrian at 30mph they have an 80 per cent chance.
