Violence reduction unit attracts £880,000 grant from Home Office

HAMPSHIRE Police and Crime Commissioner Michael Lane has been awarded £880,000 by the Home Office to set up a Violence Reduction Unit.

He worked closely with Hampshire police and local authorities on the funding bid, and the unit will focus on tackling the root causes of violence through early intervention with young people and local communities.

It will bring existing multi-agency work into one system, or network, of evidence, support and intervention.
