A warning has been sent to parents and carers of young children in the Grayswood area after a worrying incident at the village hall today (Friday).

Grayswood Primary School messaged parents and carers after two men attempted to enter the village hall and photograph children during a playgroup session.

The message read: "At about 11.30am today, two men, both wearing black trousers and a burgundy t-shirt, about 5ft9 - 5ft11, black hair and olive skin, tried to get into the village hall, where a playgroup was taking place, and initially refused to leave when asked.

"One of the men tried to photograph the children but was stopped.

"They then proceeded onto the village green and were seemingly seen photographing/videoing the school (all our children were in classrooms at the time) and other surroundings.

"Both were on their phones at certain points and then they left in the silver Toyota.

"We have reported this to the police, as have the village hall, and all staff have been made aware to be extra vigilent.

"We don't wish to alarm you, but would strongly suggest that you keep a very close eye on your children when they have left school, particularly in the park.

"If you see anything suspicious, please report immediately to the police and let the school know."

Surrey Police has been approached for a comment and update.
