Woman dies in horror crash on the A339 Alton to Basingstoke road

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on the A339 Alton to Basingstoke road on Saturday (November 13).

At 4.34pm, a bronze Renault Scenic and a blue VW Golf collided on the A339 near Bentworth.

The driver of the Renault Scenic, a man in his 40s, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the VW Golf, a 54-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A police spokesman said: "Did you see what happened? Do you have dash cam footage showing the collision or the moments beforehand?
