A woman was assaulted in an alleged hate crime in Farnham town centre in the early hours of Thursday last week.

Police say a man got out of a vehicle in Union Road at around 12.02am on August 17 and punched the female victim before fleeing.

Officers believe there may have been a “hate-crime element” to the assault.

The suspect is a white man in his late teens or early 20s, around 5ft 9in tall and with short dirty blond hair.

A police spokesman said: "If you saw anything, or have any information, please call us on 101 quoting PR/45230092036.

"If you do not wish to speak to police you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
