Part of a key cross-county road between Petersfield and Winchester will be closed for around a month as repairs are carried out to a piece of railway heritage.

Roads underwater as isolated flooding reported around Herald & Post areaThe A272 between Bordean and the West Meon Hut will be closed for up to six weeks from next Monday (September 1) while essential repairs to the former Meon Valley Line railway bridge near Stocks Lane are carried out.
The works include brickwork replacement, repointing and new fencing, with traffic being diverted in the meantime via the A32, B3004 Alton, A325 Bordon and A3.
Signs will also be erected on minor roads around the likes of East Meon, Privett and Bordean to encourage drivers to stick to the original route.
