THE emergency services were called to Alton High Street on Tuesday afternoonfollowing reports of a man suffering serious injuries at a building site near Peacocks.
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) and Hampshire Constabulary received a call around 3.10pm to attend a male, thought to be in his 50s, who had fallen as a result of a medical incident.
A road ambulance and two rapid response vehicles attended, along with several police vehicles and the Thames Valley air ambulance, which landed on nearby Flood Meadows.
A doctor and paramedic from the air ambulance attended the incident to support the SCAS crews and accompanied the patient to North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke.
According to an SCAS spokesman, the man was suffering from “life-threatening conditions”.
The air ambulance was standing in for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight crew who had been dispatched elsewhere.
According to the police, there is an ongoing investigation and the Health and Safety Executive have been notified.
