ALTON Local Food Initiative (ALFI) members held their most successful harvest feast yet, with more than 100 attendees enjoying homemade cakes, soups and bread.
The Methodist church hall was decorated with a beautiful autumnal display of produce and flowers and there was a lovely atmosphere as people chatted and exchanged ideas.
A pumpkin recipe leaflet was made available for those who wanted to have a go at some seasonal recipes themselves and a range of plants and seeds, too.
ALFI promotes sowing, sharing and supporting local food and has a number of plots and planters round the town.
The group will soon be going into hibernation for the winter, but supporters will continue to meet at the Railway Arms as they wait for gardening to restart in the spring.
New members always welcome. For more details, visit altonlocalfood.org.uk.
