Resurrection Furniture’s new charity shop in Alton High Street opened for business on Tuesday at 10am.
There was quite a queue of people keen to see what changes and improvements had been made. Early purchases included golf clubs, a book, a bookcase, a coffee table and a gate leg table.
First customer Karen bought a rug, and a regular customer bought the team a bunch of flowers to say well done.
The volunteer-run shop has been open for five years and is now in much bigger premises on the opposite side of the High Street. It supports charities, especially those involved in youth work, and is now selling a greater range of goods, including beds, curtains and electrical goods.
A spokesperson said: “We are so pleased at last, after all the planning and organisation, to get to the point where we are open to business – it’s a brilliant day.”
