This year’s Alton Victorian Cricket Tournament raised £9,000 for Broadlands Equine Therapy and Riding for the Disabled Association in Medstead.
Broadlands supports the physical and emotional well-being of children and adults with a wide range of disabilities, building confidence, improving mobility and offering joy to participants of all ages.
A portion of the donation was given to Broadlands earlier than scheduled to help fund the refurbishment of its mounting platform, which helps riders get in the saddle safely and with dignity.
Alton Victorian Cricket committee chair Trish Delaney said: "Once again we’re absolutely thrilled with the generosity shown at the tournament.
"Broadlands Equine Therapy and Riding for the Disabled Association provides life-changing support to so many individuals, and we’re delighted that our community has once again come together to raise such a significant amount.
“The early release of funds for the mounting platform refurbishment was particularly important to us, as it enables the charity to continue offering safe and accessible facilities without disruption."
Paige Parsons, centre manager at Broadlands, added: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Alton Victorian Cricket for their incredible generosity in donating £9,000 following their event in June.
“These vital funds have now been received and will be carefully invested in sourcing and training a new pony for our Riding for the Disabled Association and equine therapy centre.
“This wonderful support will make a lasting difference, enabling us to continue providing life-changing opportunities for our riders and participants.
“We are deeply grateful for the kindness of everyone involved in raising this donation.”
The Alton Victorian Cricket committee thanked the businesses and residents who sponsored the event, and those who staged and watched it, for their “incredible support”.
