POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an alleged attempted abduction in broad daylight on Friday.

At around 2.20pm, a 20-year-old woman was walking along Anstey Road. She says that as she reached the Nursery Road junction a white panel van approached.

The driver leaned into the passenger side and asked if she wanted to get in, but the woman continued walking.

The man grabbed her arm but she broke free and walked off along Anstey Road.
