ALTON could lose both its museums as part of a major review by Hampshire County Council of its Museums and Arts Service.

The axe is hanging over both the Curtis Museum and Allen Gallery as all five staff posts are "deleted" as part of a cost-cutting exercise, forced by the expected withdrawal of £1m central government funding.
