STEVEN Berkoff got a standing ovation after he and his cast premiered his play Actor's Lament at the Berkoff Centre for Performing Arts at Alton College.

Kevin Davey, head of drama and theatre studies, said: "The team were delighted to welcome Steven Berkoff back to perform live in the intimate theatrical setting. Tickets to see the actor, playwright and director sold out in days. Students had a special show and an opportunity to learn from this renowned practitioner via a dedicated question and answer session."
