Children at Binsted School undertook ‘leaps for kindness’ as part of their leap year celebrations.

Each child and member of staff wrote a paper chain link with a kind act they did or what someone did for them.

Headteacher Sharron Morton said: “It spread and spread and we soon had a huge chain linked by kindness.

“The children wrote many acts including: 'I helped my mummy and daddy when they were ill', 'I tidied up my bedroom','I looked after my friend when they were sad', 'I love my family, they look after me' and 'My friends play with me'.”

Adults wrote similar sentiments and everyone came together in the hall, joined the chain.

Everyone then shared their acts of kindness as they made leaps.

Ms Morton added: “It was a wonderful way to mark February 29 and made us feel very proud to be part of such a special, kind caring school community.”
