MCCARTHY and Stone has donated £250 to the Let’s Build It initiative by Anstey Junior School.
Let’s Build It aims to create a space that can be used by students and vulnerable young people within the community, including those with behavioural, emotional and health needs.
The space would offer one to one and group sessions, clubs, training, talks and events, as well as before and after school care.
Heather Eastman at Anstey Junior School said the fundraising has been a team effort for everyone at the school.
“Our pupils have been working really hard to raise the £150,000 we need by December 2020 to complete our Let’s Build It project,” she said.
“However, in order for us to achieve this, we are dependent on the support of others, which is why we are absolutely thrilled to have received £250 from McCarthy and Stone.
“The money will go a long way towards helping our appeal.”
Geoff Bates, head of marketing for McCarthy and Stone South, said this kind of scheme is crucial to the company.
“An important part of what we do here at McCarthy and Stone is supporting initiatives within the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy,” he added.
“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to Anstey Junior School.
“All of us at Austen Place wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community.”
Comprising a selection of 56 one and two bedroom “retirement living plus” apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Austen Place is McCarthy and Stone’s flagship Alton development.
