My Working Week: Before burnout becomes crisisThe school opened its doors at 8.15am and welcomed more than 100 pupils who had all brought their own breakfast. The purpose of the event was to encourage families to think about how to create a breakfast that would offer a great start to the day.
In the run-up to the event children had been asked to consider how many different food groups they could feature in their breakfast. They rose to the challenge and lunch boxes were bursting at the seams with fruit, pancakes, yoghurts, bacon and egg sandwiches, boxes of cereal, and fresh smoothies.
The atmosphere was lively as pupils were encouraged to discuss why breakfast was important and how different types of food would prepare them for the day ahead and keep them fit and healthy.
