FARNHAM-based Hogs Back Brewery is offering plenty of Christmas cheer to beer lovers, with a new seasonal session ale, Yule Hog, available in pubs from December, and the return of festive favourites Advent Ale and Mistletoe & Swine.

At the same time, the brewery shop is gearing up for festive shoppers, offering the brewery’s draught beers, including the festive ales and a stunning range of beers from all over the UK and further afield. The shop will be opening for extended hours in the run up to Christmas.

At 3.8 per cent ABV, Yule Hog is slightly lower strength than most Christmas beers but still packs a powerful flavour punch. A red rye beer, Yule Hog has a malty flavour and smooth character, with spicy notes and a hoppy finish, making it the perfect easy-drinking festive ale.

Rupert Thompson, Hogs Back Brewery managing director, said, “Session ales are becoming ever more popular. For example Biker, our 3.4 per cent golden summer beer brewed to celebrate the Farnham Bike Ride, was a great success.

“We spotted a gap in the market for a lower ABV festive ale, and Yule Hog fills it perfectly – a session beer with plenty of flavour, but also allowing Santa to enjoy a great pint and still steer his sleigh safely back to the North Pole.”
