THE New Alresford Town Trust organised a bumper bank holiday Monday for visitors and the residents of Alresford.

Jackie Edwards ran a vibrant brocante market which attracted a big crowd. She said: “Broad Street took on a French feel, with an eclectic mix of items which the public browsed and purchased.”

There were also open days at the Eel House, museum and Norman Bridge. Trust chair Robin Atkins said 770 visitors to the sites donated £270 plus gift aid of £68, making £338 for the trust to be split between the Eel House fund and the museum.

The next open day at the Eel House is on June 3, and the museum is next open on June 5 and June 19. All three venues will be open on July 17. The next brocante market is on September 25.
