BROWNIES from Alresford District flocked to Ropley village hall in October for a challenging afternoon of fun themed on ‘Wonderland’.

A celebration of 150 years of Lewis Carroll’s famous novel Alice in Wonderland‚challenges included mini-croquet, bunny hopping, dancing, cake decorating, and cup stacking.

All the completed challenges went toward the Wonderland challenge badge.

There was a teapot colouring/decorating challenge, which was unit based and went toward the Helen Hughes Trophy. The successful unit was Ropley Brownies in a close run competition.

All five units of Brownies that comprise the Alresford district were represented at the event, with 75 Brownies attending. Representatives of Alton Trefoil Guild attended to help with the judging for the Helen Hughes Trophy.

According to Alresford District Commissioner Sue Dinnis, the activities were rounded off with tea – which included jam tarts and a lively rendition of ‘Brownie Bells’.
