Business at a motor group with dealerships in Aldershot and Petersfield shows no sign of slowing down after clocking up a major milestone.

Bosses at Winchester Motor Group have a lot of candles to blow out as the automotive retailer is 60 years old.

Since opening in 1965 the family business has grown from a single location to a multi-site operation with dealerships across Hampshire.

Their locations include the Garland Motors Škoda in Aldershot and the Norton Motorcycles stockist, South Downs Motors, on the A272 in Stroud.

“Reaching 60 years is a milestone that reflects the dedication of our staff, the loyalty of our customers and the strength of our community partnerships.” said managing director, Mark Mills-Goodlet.

“We’ve always believed that success is built on trust, transparency and treating people with respect, whether they’re buying a car, servicing one, or working with us.

“As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep innovating while staying grounded in the values that got us here.”

The company was founded by ex-Fleet Air Arm pilot Robert Mills-Goodlet with the mission to treat every customer like family.

Key developments in its history include its expansion across Hampshire, investment in electric and hybrid vehicle offerings and engagement in community initiatives that support local charities, youth programs and sports teams.

To commemorate the anniversary, Winchester Motor Group will host a series of events throughout the remainder of the year.

These include special anniversary offers on new and used vehicles, open days featuring family activities and classic bike displays and a charitable campaign to support local causes.

The group are also looking forward to appreciation events which honour long-serving team members.

As the automotive industry evolves, Winchester Motor Group plans to continue its focus on purpose-driven leadership. Future plans involve expanding its electric vehicle infrastructure, enhancing digital customer experiences and deepening its community engagement.
