Good causes and charities around Alton have won big after getting a helping hand from the founders of a new online prize draw platform.

People who visit JispWin have the chance to win daily cash prizes of up to £50 alongside larger monthly prize draws.

The platform launched by Alton High Street firm Jisp wasn’t announced with loud fanfare and a slick marketing campaign – but with cheque presentations to four good causes around the town.

The JispWin team marked the recent launch by handing over £150 to The King’s Arms, Alton Community Cupboard, Energy Alton and Chawton Pre-School.

The early donations are part of the firm’s wider charity programme which pledges 20 per cent of all platform revenue to local good causes.

Mandy May Martin, of the King’s Arms, said the donation would make a “tangible difference in the lives of young people” while a spokesperson for Alton Community Cupboard called partnerships like the one with JispWin vital to their work.

“As a rural charity pre-school we are eternally grateful for their kind donation,” said a spokesperson for Chawton Pre-School in hailing JispWin as a local business “willing to lend a hand”.

Julian Fisher, the founder of Jisp, said the platform was born from a simple yet powerful idea: what if winning money also meant creating positive change in your own backyard?

He said: “According to the Charities Aid Foundation, fewer people are giving to charity and donation amounts are falling. That’s placing real strain on organisations doing crucial work across the UK.

“So JispWin is our answer. It’s a win for players, a win for local retailers, and a win for local communities.

“We’re building something that’s not just fun, but also fundamentally good – a self-sustaining ecosystem where everyday participation leads to extraordinary local benefit.”
