A Liss business has raised £6,000 for Parkinson’s UK.

Nick and Sophia Rook-Blackstone from Wylds Farm started fundraising in 2018. Their most recent event, a festival on their farm, raised £2,775.

The farm’s WyldFest festival took place in November and featured music, food, activities and an Aprés Tree bar which served mulled wine. The money was raised through ticket sales.

Parkinson’s is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world, and currently there is no cure. It affects around 145,000 people in the UK.

Nick and Sophia decided to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK because Nick’s mum, Heather, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s more than ten years ago.

Nick said: “Before mum was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, I knew very little about the condition, but now I’ve learned about how many people it can affect, it’s really important for us to fundraise for Parkinson’s UK.

“I know mum is very proud of everyone at Wylds Farm for the money we have raised to date.”
