THE RURAL Life Living Museum’s cafe has a new name, menu and manager to kick off the new year.

The much-loved museum in Tilford opened its doors again on Friday, January 21, and has welcomed a new addition to its staff, Kelly Quinn.

Kelly, who has an extensive background in catering management and has worked in cafés, restaurants and event catering, has taken over as manager of the newly-dubbed Market Garden Café.

It is named after the market garden that once occupied the site of the café and was tended by museum founders Madge and Henry Jackson.

The new menu includes handmade sandwiches, paninis, cakes and pastries – with hopes to extend the menu with cooked breakfast, more lunch options and special dishes on event days.

It occupies the same site as the museum’s previous cafe, and can be accessed without paying museum admission.

Kelly is also working on building strong relationships with local suppliers.

The café is currently open from 10am to 4pm on museum open days.

The menu also offers vegan and vegetarian options as well as gluten free dishes.
