Alton packaging equipment firm Engelmann & Buckham is celebrating 75 years as a limited company this year.
Founded in 1909, it began by introducing German manufacturers of packaging machines to interested companies in the UK.
It has been based in Alton since 1948, when Lt Col A H Buckham OBE bought William Curtis House in Lenten Street.
Engelmann & Buckham became a limited company in 1950 and has grown into one of Alton’s longest-established businesses.
It also operates a warehouse and engineering facility in Petersfield, where machinery is refurbished and engineered to support customers across the UK and Ireland.
As part of its anniversary year, Engelmann & Buckham celebrated with its partners and colleagues at the PPMA Total Show 2025 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the largest packaging and processing event in the UK.

Iain Buckham, chairman and owner of Engelmann & Buckham, said: “Reaching 75 years is a tremendous achievement for everyone at Engelmann & Buckham.
“We’re proud to have been part of the Alton community for over 80 years - providing employment, supporting local families and contributing to the town’s economy.
“Alton has always been at the heart of who we are, and we look forward to continuing that relationship for many years to come.”
From its home in Lenten Street, Engelmann & Buckham provides machinery consultations, in-depth knowledge and commitment to support - qualities that have guided the company through decades of innovation and change. It is still a family-owned business with a strong sense of local identity and pride in its Hampshire heritage.
A spokesperson added: “Engelmann & Buckham is a renowned provider of e-commerce, process and packaging machinery solutions, committed to delivering innovative technologies that enhance productivity and quality.
“With a focus on customer satisfaction and industry-leading expertise, Engelmann & Buckham continues to help businesses find the best solutions for their production facilities.”
