OLYMPIC torchbearers from Alton will be in action over the next few days, as the Olympic flame makes its way through Dorset, Hampshire and West Sussex.

At 92, Medstead's Tony Chivers is scheduled to be the oldest runner carrying the Olympic torch as it makes its way through Bournemouth on Friday and on Saturday Holybourne resident Lesley Cook, 64, and Alton Trampoline Club coach, Sylvia Comber, 60, will be part of the relay through Lymington.

Those turning out on Monday to watch the flame being carried through Petersfield on Day 59 of its journey to the Olympic Stadium in London will be cheering on Alton sports therapist Sally Sheward, 56, and 30-year old community fundraiser Tim Hornby, also from Alton.
