A BY-ELECTION has been called to fill a vacant seat on Alton Town Council’s Amery ward following the resignation of Mike Dicker.

A Conservative councillor, Mr Dicker (pictured) was elected to the town council on May 7, 2015, to represent Amery ward, alongside Lib Dem colleague Allan Chick.

Anyone interested in standing for election can get a nomination form by writing to the election team at East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), Penns Place, Petersfield, Hampshire GU31 4EX.

Nomination papers must be delivered to EHDC between Wednesday, August 1, and 4pm on Thursday, August 9.

Any electors who need to register before voting in the by-election must do so by Monday, August 20.
