A MEDSTEAD couple are running a disco in the village hall next Saturday in aid of the charity Dreams Come True.

For Sally and Andrew Powell, the disco is part of a much bigger challenge, to run the London Marathon in April. But not only do they have to run 26.2 miles, in order to even cross the starting line they must raise £2,000 each for their chosen charity.

For some years the Powells have been supporting Liphook-based charity Dreams Come True, which creates opportunities for terminally-ill children.

Sally ,37, said: “When we first heard about Dreams Come True we realised how lucky we were to have two children who are fit, well and healthy, and since then we have raised money each year in support of the charity.”

The Medstead disco starts at 7.30pm and finishes at midnight, with optional fancy dress based on ‘your own disco era’. There will also be a bar, a burger and chip van outside for peckish dancers.

Tickets, priced £10, are available by calling Sally Powell on 07770 640524 or 01420 562364.
