POLICE have issued an appeal for information after a series of burglaries in Alresford, Medstead and Cheriton, which took place on Monday in broad daylight.

The incidents, which have resulted in the loss of thousands of pounds of goods, including jewellery and a car, is thought to have occurred 8am and 4pm, when burglars broke into to houses by smashing rear windows and doors.

Burglaries took place in Alresford Road, Cheriton; Tichborne Down, Jacklyns Lane (two burglaries), Grange Road (two burglaries) and South Close in Alresford, and Wield Road, High Street, Hussell Lane and Abbey Road in Medstead.

A Ford Fiesta (picture) was stolen from the address in Abbey Road.

A white Audi TT was reported to have been seen in Alresford and Medstead at the time of the burglaries.
