AN appeal has been launched for volunteer models who would be willing to give up an evening to raise money for charity in connection with this year’s Alton Fashion Show.
Designed to showcase the very best of the season’s collections from independent businesses, while raising money for the Treloar Trust, the event organisers are seeking confident, fun-loving men and women who would like to model for the show at the Alton Maltings Centre on November 18.
The runway experience will feature bridal wear, formal wear, and handpicked clothing from Four Marks-based Tall Girls. Former Alton-based business Experience and 217 Menswear, from Fleet, will be joining the runway, along with Beverley Edmondson Millinery, from Farnham.
All models will be treated to hair styling from The Cutting Room and make-up from Pretty Woman Beauty Salon on the afternoon of the show.
The fashion show supports the Treloar Trust, which will be running a bumper raffle on the evening, and there will also be stands selling fashion and beauty gifts.
The show is being organised by Emma Molyneux, of Experience, and Jenny Atherton, of Fuse Projects, Alton.
Jenny said: “Following the success of working with businesses in Fleet to run two similar events and raising more than £5,500 for charity, we decided to bring this successful event over to Alton.
“We both grew up in Alton and wanted to work with the businesses to offer a different kind of night out while giving a real boost to the town.”
Emma added: “We’d like to hear from confident, sassy models of all shapes and sizes. These are really fun events to be involved in, while raising lots of money for charity, supporting local businesses and wearing gorgeous clothes. Please e-mail [email protected] to find out more.”
Tickets, priced £18, are available from new town centre florist Bows and Bouquets, on Market Street, or online via altonfashionshow.co.uk. Entry includes a bubbles reception, entertainment, shopping, and a donation to the Treloar Trust.
