Alton Climate Action Network, in partnership with Alton Men’s Shed and the Alton Local Food Initiative, is taking part in Petersfield Climate Action Network's A Fruit Tree in Every Garden project.

The apple, pear, plum, damson, cherry and cobnut bare-root UK-grown trees on offer are two years old and cost £21.50 each. Each comes with a tie, stake and planting instructions.

Jenny Griffiths from ACAN said: “Children love watching the fruit grow and being able to pick it when it’s ripe. Plus fruit trees are brilliant for wildlife, giving birds and bees a place to feed and nest.”

On the morning of January 17 trees can be collected from Edgar Hall in Anstey Park. They can be ordered until December 31 at https://petersfieldcan.org/projects/nature-recovery/trees
