Proposals for improved community facilities in Four Marks have been put out for discussion by Four Marks Parish Council.
It held an update in Four Marks Village Hall on September 7 and is hosting another one there on September 10 from 7pm to 9pm.
The parish council’s master plan focuses on three buildings - Benians Pavilion, the village hall and the Scout hut.
A parish council spokesperson said: “East Hampshire District Council’s Community Facilities Study, first published in 2021 and updated annually, highlights capacity pressures across the district and has informed investment through the Community Infrastructure Levy.
“The parish council has developed a plan to meet this challenge. The first step is to refurbish and extend the Benians Pavilion, creating a modern, flexible facility to serve sports clubs, community groups and residents of all ages.
“This unlocks future upgrades to the Scout hut and village hall with minimal disruption. The project cost of £2.8 million is fully funded from developer contributions, parish reserves and a government-backed loan.”
Plans for Benians Pavilion include providing facilities for all younger age groups on the first floor, plus more and larger rooms for the use of existing clubs.
The parish council wants to bring the changing rooms up to current specifications for cricket and football, with the aim of getting cricket played there again and providing more opportunities to play football, particularly for youth teams. It wants facilities for private hirers and more flexible use of the building.
It wants to replace the Scout hut, and improve the village hall’s heating, toilets, kitchen, storage and insulation, and add solar panels.

The parish council spokesperson added: “Four Marks already has nearly 2,150 households, with 320 more homes approved and at least 1,100 to 2,500 additional homes expected by 2040.
“This growth is unprecedented and will place real pressure on our community facilities. To secure £1.25m in funding, we must act this year. We need your views. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and help shape the future of our village.”
