THREE regulars from The Rose & Crown pub in Upper Farringdon will take to the saddle next week for a 12-hour spinathon in aid of charity.

Andy Ranson, Kevin Gillett and Lee Jolliffe will be cycling non-stop for 12 hours on static bikes at the pub next Saturday, October 13, keeping the pedals going from 8am to 8pm, and they are hoping supporters will pop in to cheer them on and even take over for a bit while they refresh with a pint at the bar!

The 12-hour spinathon should cover the same mileage as an Ironman event, which is good training for the Lanzarote Ironman which the trio are taking part in next May, again for charity. The charities the men are supporting include Macmillan Cancer Support, Wessex Cancer Trust, The Brain Tumour Charity, Crohns and Colitis UK, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, and Arthritis Research.

None of the three cyclists have taken on an Ironman challenge before. Kevin has run marathons, Andy has had a hip operation and Lee is only just learning to swim.
