AN Alton woman braved the shave as she went the extra mile for charity.

Treloar admissions officer Hannah Bufton bid farewell to her hair at the school on October 2 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support – and fellow staff members and pupils on were hand at the Alton school to cheer her on.

“Like most people, my family and I have been and continue to be affected by this horrible disease,” she said. “I felt that I needed to do something and my hair will always grow back.”

Now, Hannah said she is looking forward to saving some money on cuts and hair products – funds she will send instead to the charity.

She has just passed the £700 mark and is creeping ever closer to her £1,000 target. Her sponsorship page at bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/shavers/
