MEMBERS of the Alton Choral Society are preparing to join choristers from Rogate and Petersfield at the annual Petersfield Musical Festival on Saturday.
The popular festival runs from March 11-19 and all performances take place at the Festival Hall on Heath Road in Petersfield.
The rousing music of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana will be preceded by Lambert’s The Rio Grande and music for two pianos Saint-Saens Danse Macabre and Shostakovich’s Concertino.
Alton Choral Society conductor Steven Petch is really enjoying the enlarged Alton Choir and has attracted many new members. He said: “I would very much like more singers to join with us this year and to share the fun and enthusiasm of our present membership.”
