ALMOST 30 villagers aged six years old and upwards rolled up their sleeves for Churt’s annual litter pick.

All generations were represented as the volunteers headed out from the Churt pavilion. And though the litter was not as bad as in previous years, 17 black sacks of rubbish were still collected.

Parish clerk Dawn Barrow said: "Many thanks from the parish council to all those who donned their hi-vis jackets, picked up their litter-pick tools and set off to make our village a tidier, more litter-free place.

"Please can we ask everyone – including passing motorists – to try to keep it that way."
