AN Alton man will have to complete 100 hours of community payback after assaulting a woman.

Scott Westwood, 44, of Florence Way, pleaded guilty to the assault, which took place in July. The female victim also lives in Alton.

At a hearing on October 3, Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court ordered Westwood to pay £100 compensation, £85 victim surcharge and £85 for costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He has 12 months to complete his unpaid work.
