Swanky restaurant chain Coppa Club has been all but confirmed as the key anchor tenant of Brightwell House at the heart of Crest Nicholson’s Brightwells Yard development in central Farnham.

Old claims that the East Street redevelopment was destined to become a ‘white elephant’ resurfaced after the shock withdrawal of M&S Simply Food in August.

But in better news for Crest, its commercial partner Surrey County Council and Farnham foodies, plans surfaced last week appearing to show Coppa Club is now committed to taking the ‘jewel in the crown’ Grade II-listed Brightwell House unit at the heart of the scheme.

The application, submitted to Waverley Borough Council, concerns the installation of four hanging projecting signs and other signage – with plans clearly featuring the Coppa Club’s insignia (pictured above).

Billed as a ‘members’ club without the fees’, Coppa Club is an all-day restaurant with 11 so-called ‘clubhouses’ already established across the UK, including a restaurant with rooms opened at the Georgian Hotel in nearby Haslemere in May this year.

Coppa Club’s main courses typically range in price from £14 to £31.50, while it also provides bespoke breakfast, weekend, non-gluten and children’s menus as well as takeaway and ‘Rosé Hour’ offers.
