Six East Hampshire district councillors and a charity shop have helped Holybourne Theatre pay for a fire alarm system.
After a fire inspection the charity was told it needed to install the system because of the increased number of community functions it runs.
A spokesperson for Holybourne Theatre said: “This was a big challenge for us as the cost was huge.
“We contacted many local councillors, and Graham Hill, Ginny Boxall, Warren Moore, Emily Young, Suzie Burns and Barbara Tansey agreed to help us with a donation from their councillor pots - plus we had a very kind large donation from Resurrection Furniture.
“They were all invited to the theatre on August 8 to have a picture taken. We would like to extend our extreme gratitude to everyone who donated.”
Holybourne Theatre’s next fundraising event is an Elton John tribute evening with a full band on September 13 at 7.30pm.
