EAST Hampshire District Councillor for Liss Cllr Keith Budden has produced his first book.
GDPR Made Simple gives organisations the advice they need to go from having no General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in place to having everything needed to be fully legally compliant.
This has been law in the UK since 2018, when GDPR was implemented through the Data Protection Act 2018.
Cllr Budden has already provided GDPR advice to more than 150 organisations across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, India, South Africa and the USA.
And lockdown gave him the chance to write his first book and share his GDPR expertise with a wider audience. The 150-page book has 26 chapters, with different topics divided into manageable chunks.
Cllr Budden said: "I’ve helped small, medium and large businesses all across the spectrum with GDPR.
"Only 22 per cent of organisations who need to be GDPR compliant currently are. The aim of the book is to make GDPR simple to understand.
"When lockdown started last year all our face-to-face training stopped. I did Zoom sessions, but I thought I should write a book on GDPR.
"It took me three months to write, and another three months to find a publisher."
Cllr Budden held a book signing event at the Studio shop at the Shed in Bordon on Thursday, November 25.
He said: "I’m a SiGNAL BiZHUB member and I thought holding the book signing at the Studio would be a good opportunity to make more people aware of it."
GDPR Made Simple is available for £7.99 on Amazon, although the price is set to increase to £14.99 next year.
