EAST Hampshire District Council leader Ferris Cowper honoured the men and women who defend our freedom by raising the Armed Forces Day Flag above Penns Place on Monday. Armed Forces Day tomorrow is an occasion to recognise the contribution of those who serve or have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces. EHDC was expecting to fly the special flag throughout the week. Mr Cowper, right, said: "I am proud to raise this flag over Penns Place in recognition of the selfless work the men and women of our armed services. "Armed Forces Day is the perfect way for the residents of the UK to come together and say 'thank you' to those who sacrifice so much for our freedom."
