EAST Hampshire Liberal Democrats spokesman Jerry Janes has warned that village communities like Binsted could die unless they push for more first-time buyer and affordable homes.

At the monthly meeting of East Hampshire District Council's Community Forum on Tuesday, Mr Janes pointed out that while Binsted was a beautiful place to live, falling numbers at Binsted Primary School, which currently has 80 pupils – only a handful of whom live in Binsted – and expensive house prices could lead to demographic problems.
