AN application to build a detached dwelling with access and parking and landscaping and the creation of a replacement menage at Stable Cottage on The Street in Upper Farringdon has been dismissed at appeal.

The government inspector felt the main issues to be the impact on highway safety and the effect on the character and appearance of the area, which sits within the South Downs National Park and close to the Farringdon Conservation Area.
