DINOSAURS invaded Alton’s Allen Gallery and children were invited to model their own dinosaur out of clay.
The activity was led by tutor Lucy Burley, a professional potter, who also supplied prints depicting the scary beasts and invited the youngsters, aged six to 12, to choose which dinosaur to make.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex, the largest of the dinosaurs to roam the primeval forests, turned out to be a firm favourite.
The hour-long session produced some realistic models, which Lucy took away to be fired and then the children can come to collect them and take them home.
Rob Ross, assistant community engagement and learning officer at the gallery, said: “The dinosaur making, on what we call Dinosaur Tuesdays, was a great success. Future sessions will feature the making of a dinosaur hat and a badge.”
