MEDSTEAD village hall has hosted a charity disco to help a marathon effort.

More than £1,100 was raised from the disco for villagers Sally and Andrew Powell, who need to raise £2,000 each to run in next month’s London Marathon in aid of Liphook good cause Dreams Come True, which helps make realise dreams for seriously and terminally ill children.

For Sally and Andrew, this is just one in a long line of fundraising ventures they have undertaken over the past few years in aid of the charity, and they hope it will help onto the starting line for the annual run around the streets of our nation’s capital on April 24.

Sally, 37, said: “When we first heard about Dreams Come True we realised how lucky we were to have two children who are fit, well and healthy, and since then we have raised money each year in support of the charity.”

She will run the 26.2 miles with 46-year-old seasoned marathon runner Andy.
