A company from Alton has donated £750 to Eggar’s School as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy.

Amina Kellie and Marion Goodes, head of procurement and chief process officer at PelGar International, visited the Holybourne school on June 17 to present the cheque.

Eggar’s headteacher Sarah Holman was surprised by the news, saying she was “blown away” when she read the company’s announcement.

PelGar International, based in Newman Lane, makes rodent and insect control products for public health and farming purposes.

Its donation will be directed towards essential areas of the school’s improvement and development plan, helping to make the future better for pupils through targeted enhancements.

A key priority for Eggar’s is The Hive, a safe and nurturing space designed to support pupils experiencing high anxiety and sensory challenges.

The school hopes to use the funds to expand and enhance resources within The Hive as part of its mission to provide a secure and inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.

Amina and Marion said: “Beyond supporting current students, the school places great importance on early engagement through its Year 6 transition journey, ensuring primary pupils and their parents feel confident about making the leap to secondary education.

“Eggar’s School also hosts Discover Eggar’s workshops for Year 4 and 5 students, allowing younger children to experience the school’s welcoming environment and inspiring academic opportunities first-hand.

“Sarah Holman is passionate about her role as headteacher and believes that education has the power to transform lives far beyond the classroom. Supported by a dedicated team, Eggar’s School continues to instil its core values - Belong, Aspire, Achieve - in every student, creating a culture of growth and ambition.
