EAST Hampshire residents are being urged to check their voter registration details.
The district council’s annual canvass of its electoral register began on Monday.
Over the coming weeks every household will receive a notification letter or a canvass form giving details of what information is held on the electoral register about their property. People should check it for accuracy and follow the instructions provided.
A council spokesperson said: “It’s important that you don’t ignore these documents. They will tell you what action you need to take so we can confirm who is eligible to vote at your address.”
The canvass ensures the council can keep the register up to date and identify residents not registered to vote so they can do so in future elections. The revised register will be published on December 1.
