Recorded crime levels in the Alton town patch fell to their lowest point for a year in February.
Some 65 crimes were reported during the month compared to 88 in January, with the previous 12-month low being the 74 in September 2025.
Crimes involving violence or sexual offences were the most frequently reported with 27 altogether, with offences involving anti-social behaviour and drugs the next most common with ten apiece.
More than half the drugs offences took place around the town centre, with Normandy Street and Draymans Way being hotspots, while a burglary was also reported on Queens Road during the month.
However, levels rose to their third highest point for a year in Alton Rural, with 43 crimes being reported.
